Something that explains the meaning of life and the definition of my existence.
On February 7 we traveled to Jerusalem, the center of the world's existence. It is impossible to determine the time period of this great city, because it has been prevalent in ancient to current history. Jerusalem was first established as the capitol of Israel in the era of Kind David, but was also the the destination in which the world was created. We studied the the kingdom under David and the importance of the wall. The discussion I was interested in was right before we entered the wall about how for some people it is an overwhelming spiritual experience, and for some people, it is just a wall. In my first experience at the wall, I was in between these two stages. I did not feel hashem rush into my soul, but I was still able to feel some sort of comfortable sensation. I recognized the historical importance, and for sure felt a connection to my ancestors. I even got emotional thinking about the ones before me that have paved the way for the foundation of my life. One thing that I could see as a spiritual connection was when I first touched the wall, I felt shivers in my arm, and that could either be the adrenaline building up or a sign from something greater than myself. In a way it is just stones on top of stones, but as I looked around at my peers, and the raw emotion brought out of them, I was forced to feel that there is something else. Something that explains the meaning of life and the definition of my existence. - Jack
