"Because of the War, I Didn’t Know What to Expect"

In today’s current news, when you hear about Israel all that comes to mind is the war. Since October 7th, the American view of Israel has been that of a hostile environment, which in no way could seem like a dream. Yet, living in Israel at this time has changed my life in more ways than one. Because of the war, I didn’t know what to expect.

Due to this unique situation, I wasn’t sure how much I would get out of this program because of the current safety precautions, but I was definitely proven wrong.

What I love about the Muss curriculum is that we not only get to learn the history about the land of Israel and Judaism, but we also get to stand in those places in which the stories are derived from. For me, it makes me feel more connected with my religion and to the past. Not only have I learned so much new information, but I have also made lifelong friends. Everyone here feels like one big Muss family, and I know these friendships I have made will last a lifetime.

Being at Muss has made me expand my horizons and when I leave in June, I’m sure that I will be taking home so much. Israel has become my second home, and I am so glad I’ve had the opportunity to go on this amazing program.
