Yam L’Yam: From Sea to Sea!

The week began spent in classes and settling back into the usual campus routine following last week’s Shabbat experience. But by Tuesday morning, the teens left normal campus life behind as they set off on one of the most transformative and impactful Muss experiences — Yam L’Yam (sea to sea), crossing Israel from the Mediterranean Sea to the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) on foot!

The adventure began at Achziv Beach, where the group gathered for an opening ceremony. From there, they set off into Nahal Kziv for their first hike. Students dove straight into the experience (literally); trekking through water, swimming along the way, and taking in the beautiful surroundings as they began their journey east.

By the time they reached their first campsite that evening, everyone was ready for dinner and bed. The evening was spent stargazing before falling asleep under the stars...

The following morning, the group was back on the trail, this time tackling the hike up Mount Meron. The group made the climb and stopped at the top to eat, surrounded by some incredible views. After another full day of hiking, they made their way to their second campsite at Nahal Amud.

Thursday brought a slightly shorter hike to the Sechvi Pools, and, on such a hot day, the brisk water of the pools was very welcome. The students had time to swim and cool off before having lunch and continuing to Ein Moda. Here, the group enjoyed more swimming, good food, and time to relax and watch the sunset before continuing on to Kadarim for their final night of camping.

By this point, the students had walked, climbed, swam, and spent several days bonding as a group, but there was still one more day to go!

This very morning, the group set out on the final hike of Yam L’Yam, finally reaching the Kinneret and completing their journey from sea to sea, having made their way across the entire country together.

As the teens look back at this great accomplishment, they will travel back to campus for Shabbat and some well-earned rest.

Yam L’Yam is not only about hiking and all the incredible places the students get to see. It’s about everything that happens along the way — helping each other when it gets difficult, laughing when everyone is exhausted, splashing in streams together, and waking up each morning knowing there is a whole new world in store for them that day.

They have seen beautiful views, swam in cold water, hiked through hot days, and tested their endurance and drive. As they reach the Kinneret together, all of their hard work will culminate into one unforgettable experience.

From the Mediterranean to the Kinneret — what a week, and what an achievement! We are so proud of our students.
