Flash Forward 8 Years...

My name is Devorah and I attended Muss during the fall of 2016 with Gann Academy. As cliche as it may sound, my time at Muss had a profound impact on who I am today and helped shape my Zionist identity. The experiential learning and teachers were what made Muss the חוויה that it was. I was lucky to be taught by Akiva Gersh for my “core” studies. What I loved most about classes and tiyulim with him, was how he would tell stories and sing songs that would make the places we visited come to life. My favorite trip had to be our Yam L’Yam tiyul. Not only did it push me past my mental and physical limits, but we got to see all of the beauty that the land of Israel has to offer.

Flash forward 8 years, I’m living in Jerusalem after having made Aliyah in 2020. Every time I see the little shvil yisrael symbol on a nearby rock, I’m reminded of that incredible 3-day tiyul and all the other beautiful moments from my time at Muss.
