If this trip could teach me one thing it would definitely be how different American and Israeli culture is. Americans are aggressive when driving but when I first got into the center of Hod Hasharon I realized my whole life was a lie. Many Israelis have been in the military so they still have the sharp edge you need to be in it, Americans are laid back and only the taxi drivers honk and tailgate cars like here. When I was at my host family for Rosh Hashana they were extremely different, first off we didn’t go to any day services which I normally do which was so much better than at home. The second things that was different was that we had a dinner with their family which was nice because my family was so spread out that it was nice to have a family environment to be around, since my family so across the world. Another difference is the food they eat. Americans eat fast food and so much unhealthy stuff while Israelis have all the fresh fruits that we don’t have in New England. The other thing that is different is that the people are much more open and will come up to you and start talking, one particular group came up and started saying about how they were going to ask a girl to marry them. This is completely different from anywhere in America because so many people are so secretive it’s weird having random people talking to you about their personal life. Israel has less people so you see similar people more often, I always see the same people motorbiking around while I hardly ever see the same random people in my town. I have really enjoyed being in Israel, it has been really cool seeing all of the places I have been. I still find it funny how we could be traveling places a quarter across the country, which is really just an hour. Well that’s all from this blog, so I really hope that this trip keeps bringing all of this awesome stuff and expanding my knowledge of Israel.
