We are a week into the AMHSI semester session, and many great things have occurred. Even though I have been missing many things from Miami, like my friends, family, and my home, the great activities we have done in this trip, have made me forget some of those things. I have made many good friends, and have had a lot in common with them, while also sharing new things with each other. We have already met our great teachers and madrichim, and have learned many great things from them, and a lot more to come.
On Wednesday, we went to Tel Gezer, which is thirty minutes south of Alexander Muss High School in Israel, in Hod Hasharon, which is where our school is. We hiked up the mountain, and saw the many different landscapes all over Israel. Also, we learned about how the people that lived in Gezer, survived. Tel Gezer was a good introduction, which made me think about upcoming things to look forward to, in the next four months in Israel.
I have many goals that I would like to accomplish in the next semester in Israel. A goal that I have is, to become more independent, and learn to live without my parent’s help. I would like to learn to do my homework, clean my room, and my clothes by myself, without my mom bugging me all the time to do it, while also with my school things. Also, to grow up more, as a person, and being independent.
Another goal that I have, is to learn more about my Jewish history, and identity. With the help of our great teacher, Aubrey. I would like to connect more with what the Jewish people went through, while also learning about the religion, and the traditions.
Also, I would like to visit many places from Israel, that I have never visited. I feel like visiting places in Israel, will help me learn more about the Jewish people, and my Jewish identity.
Last, I would love to win our fantasy league that we made with the boys of the semester. It would be a great pleasure, and opportunity, to win this league. I hope this will be a great four months.
