The Alexander Muss High School in Israel Impact Fellowship prepares a select group of high school students to take their place as future Jewish change-makers.

Now Accepting Applications for the 2024 Impact Fellowship

Fall Semester: August 26 - December 23, 2024

Born from a rich tradition of fostering leadership, the Alexander Muss High School in Israel Impact Fellowship prepares a select group of high school students to take their place as future Jewish change-makers for a semester abroad. When their study abroad is complete, fellows return home as ambassadors for Israel and the Jewish people, armed with the necessary tools to conduct recruitment events, promote the school and all that it stands for, and ready to embark on the next stage of life: college.

In addition to Alexander Muss High School in Israel’s signature experiential learning curriculum of 4,000+ years of Jewish and Israeli history, Impact Fellows participate in a specialized track that includes:

  • $15,000 grant that goes towards full tuition of $23,950 and does not include airfare or $250 registration fee.
  • Housing and meals.
  • Leadership training on campus.
  • Workshops on critical thinking, social media, marketing, and public speaking.

Fellows are required to fulfill a fundraising commitment of $2,000 via Plant Your Way

Upon their return, Fellow responsibilities include:

  • Attend at least one JNF event in their local area.
  • Help promote AMHSI and other JNF programs, serving as a liaison for potential students.
  • Speak at local JNF events, including local board meetings.
  • Be on a call with Russell Robinson, JNF CEO.

Who We Are Looking For:

We are seeking exceptional students entering their sophomore or junior year of high school who have demonstrated achievements in leadership, character, and academic endeavors. They should possess a deep and personal connection to Judaism, exhibit emotional stability and maturity, and actively participate in a variety of extracurricular activities. They should display both accomplishment and potential. Our impact fellowships have been created to prepare a critical mass of future Jewish leaders! The fellowships are making an investment in tomorrow’s Jewish leadership.

How Does it Work?

  1. Find the fellowship in your community below.
  2. Apply or nominate a student for the program.
  3. Students fill out the standard AMHSI application.
  4. Students must also answer short essay questions to illustrate who they are and what they are passionate about.

The Jewish National Fund (JNF) Impact Fund

Established in 2015 the Impact Funds are established locally and make the fellowship program possible. Created by AMHSI–JNF to identify outstanding high school students, this program provides them with leadership training and a transformative Israel experience. This experience enables students to explore their identity and heritage as well as discover their own link within the chain of Jewish continuity. Fellows must complete pre-trip and post-trip requirements that help them develop key skills and tools to become the next generation of Jewish leadership.

For more information on how to establish your own fellowship, to support an existing fellowship, or to create an endowment for the fund, please contact Rabbi Greg Litcofsky at [email protected].
