Trip dates: June 16 - July 30, 2021

Applications Due: May 5

Travel around the country and explore Israeli culture in greater depth on this new summer travel program! You will explore Israel your way, choosing a topic of interest that strengthens your connection to Israel through the chugim (electives) below. Twice a week, you will split up into your chosen chug to learn about that particular topic. During the last week of the program, you will participate in an intensive seminar with your group, presenting a final project using the knowledge and skills you've learned over the past six weeks.

Choose from one of the chugim to explore in greater depth:

Arts & Culture
Participate in exciting tours and workshops that help you better understand Israeli society through the arts! Learn 72 years of Israeli music, studying how Hebrew is used in song. Taste Israel's diverse ethnic cuisine and experience its bustling markets. Gain a new perspective on Israeli politics and history through photography, painting, and other forms of art. Study architecture firsthand while visiting Israel's famous heritage sites.

Camping & Orienteering
Enhance your survival skills on the ultimate Israel outdoor adventure while experiencing nature in a deep and impactful way! Skills include orienteering: learn how to read maps, plan and prepare a route, and navigate during the daylight and nighttime. Hike beautiful trails while learning hiking safety and how to lead a hike. Learn useful campsite skills: how to build a long-lasting campfire, pitch a tent, and stargaze. You will become an expert in Israel's terrain while working together as a team.

Entrepreneurship

Understand what it really means to be the Start-up Nation on this fascinating program! Learn about the connection between service in the Israel Defense Forces and entrepreneurships. Focus on Israel's role in geopolitics by looking at its borders, politics in the region, and security and peace.
