Choose from one of the chugim to explore in greater depth:

Arts & Culture

Every work of art tells a story, and gives meaning to the human experience.

Explore Israeli society through the arts! Listen to Israel's unique style music, studying how Hebrew is used in song. Taste Israel's diverse ethnic cuisine and experience its bustling markets. Gain a new perspective on Israeli politics and history through photography, painting, and other forms of art while meeting with local Israeli artists. Study architecture firsthand while visiting Israel's famous heritage sites. Below are some highlights of the program:

  • Opportunities to explore your own creativity through works of art - you don't need to be an experienced artist, writer, or musician; just come with curiosity and a willingness to try new things
  • Tours throughout Israel, including nature hikes, ancient archaeological sites, city tours, food and craft markets
  • Celebration of Jewish traditions, music, and history
  • One-on-one mentorships with teachers to guide you every step of the way
  • Creating your very own portfolio of your work to take home with you at the end of the program

Entrepreneurship

Great minds can change the world.

Explore the Start-up Nation firsthand! Guided by one of our experienced Israeli Studies educators, participants will learn how Israel's people, history, culture, and geography has led to its development as a hub for entrepreneurship while traveling from the North to the South. Participants will meet with leading companies and visit startups working in all kinds of industries, including self-driving cars, cyber-security, urban agriculture, water technology, and cryptocurrency. Below are some highlights of the program:

  • Conceptualizing, building, prototyping, and pitching a viable startup to a panel of investors at a culminating gala event
  • A choice of four specialized tracks: Coding Hack-a-thon, Environmental Entrepreneurship, Impact Entrepreneurship, and Financial Markets Boot Camp
  • One-on-one mentorships with leading Israeli entrepreneurs and start-up professionals
  • Building life-long friendships with other Jewish teens from across the U.S. and Israel.

Twice a week, you will split up into your chosen chug to learn about that particular topic. During the last week of the program, you will participate in an intensive seminar with your group, presenting a final project using the knowledge and skills you've learned over the past six weeks.
