Giving Back on Sukkot

Chag Sameach!

It’s the joyful holiday of Sukkot, and our students have spent the first days of the festival visiting friends and family around Israel. While much of the country is on vacation, we’re continuing our journey of learning, growth, and celebration—with plenty of fun along the way!

Tomorrow, we’ll be heading to the charming town of Mazkeret Batya for a special Sukkah party at the home of one of our Israel Studies teachers, Donni Kandel. Following that, our students will take part in a meaningful volunteer project with Leket Israel, an incredible organization that rescues surplus agricultural produce and distributes it to families in need across the country.

After volunteering, we’ll enjoy some time at the beach and take in the festive atmosphere of a Sukkot street fair in Tel Aviv.

We’re planning a peaceful Shabbat on campus, sharing meals together in our large campus sukkah. Next week, we’ll return to Jerusalem for Simchat Torah, one of the most joyous celebrations of the Jewish year. Hundreds of communities and synagogues dance through the night and day, both indoors and out in the streets. Our students will have the chance to join in the dancing and experience the energy and unity of this special day firsthand.

Chag Sameach and Shabbat Shalom!
