Our Morning Climb
This past week at Muss, we hiked Masada and floated in the Dead Sea—an experience I’ll never forget. The day we climbed Masada, we woke up at 4am to begin the difficult ascent in time to catch a breathtaking sunrise. Even though the hike was challenging, reaching the top gave us all a deep sense of accomplishment.
We spent the morning on the mountain, starting with a beautiful service led by our teachers as the sun rose before our eyes. Afterwards, we learned about the fascinating yet tragic history of the people who once lived on Masada.
After such a strenuous morning, we enjoyed a relaxing afternoon at the Dead Sea. My friends and I floated for hours and covered ourselves in mud—it truly felt like a spa day after the long hike! We ended this memorable day back on campus with a restful Shabbat, the perfect way to close out such a meaningful experience.
