Fall 2024: Preparing for Poland - A Unique Semester Experience
This past week has been a relaxed blend of studies and fun on campus, highlighted by a meaningful talk with historian, author, and former Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren. We also look forward to an important journey ahead, as next Monday our students will embark on a trip to Poland where they will explore the history and memory of the Holocaust. This trip is a vital part of their semester experience, allowing them to connect deeply with their Jewish heritage and reflect on the lessons of history.
During their visit, our students will explore locations that provide insight into the lives of Jewish communities before the Holocaust and the realities of the events that unfolded during this tragic period. These experiences will serve as powerful reminders of the resilience and strength of the Jewish people.
After everything our community has faced over the past year, this journey takes on even deeper significance. Throughout their time at Muss, our students have learned valuable lessons about resilience, unity, and the importance of standing together. They have witnessed firsthand the strength of communities coming together to support one another during difficult times, and this trip will allow them to draw parallels between past and present struggles.
The Holocaust stands as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, and our students will have the opportunity to confront this history directly. They will engage with the legacy of survival and hope that emerged from the darkest moments. The importance of remembrance and the responsibility to combat hatred and intolerance resonate now more than ever.
We encourage you to engage in conversations with your children about their experiences in Poland when they return. The insights gained will surely spark meaningful discussions about history, identity, resilience, and the importance of remembrance.
Thank you for your continued support as we prepare for this significant journey. We look forward to hearing the reflections and stories from our students upon their return.
