It was a week of mixed emotions for the Alexander Muss High School in Israel (Muss) Spring 2026 students as they celebrated the last week of classes and wrapped up their last full week on the Muss campus.

While many students were still preparing for or taking AP exams, those who did not have test prep visited the Peres Center for Peace and Innovation in Tel Aviv on Tuesday. After their visit, students went to the Neve Tzedek and Carmel Market neighborhoods where they surveyed local Israelis about life in Israel, gaining invaluable insight into what it’s like to live in Israel year-round. They ended the day with a delicious falafel dinner.

Wednesday was the last official day of class for the spring 2026 semester. In the evening, students gathered to hear the inspiring story of Naftali Aklum, who, with his family, was among one of the first ever groups to make aliyah (immigration to Israel) from Ethiopia via Sudan.

On Thursday, students went to Jerusalem where they visited Yad LaKashish, a nonprofit organization which provides work, support, and empowerment for the elderly community. Following their time with the seniors, the entire group volunteered at Pantry Packers, preparing sandwiches and care packages for soldiers in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), before heading to the Sifting Project to do some archaeological work.

After such a full day, Muss students returned to campus for a catered dinner and final going away party.

Friday afternoon, the students had free time at Tel Aviv Port and then were back to campus for their very last Shabbat.
