"Front row seats" to the history of Israel

I have used Israel as a living classroom by having the opportunity to learn about the history while seeing it at the sights. I have been able to walk around and imagine what happened on the ground I was standing on. I think that this is really important to be able to go out and see the history we are learning through our own eyes because you get “front row seats” to the history of Israel.

You are able to learn about all the history in the classroom one day and then the next day you go out to the place you just learned about and walk on the same ground where Israelites walked around thousands of years ago as well as seeing how they lived and how each different place we go to has the same plan to the house such as having a bathroom, a dining room and a mikvah for the women. But every house is set up very different and has its own unique twist to it. I love seeing all the sights because I feel like I am able to really understand and soak in what I’ve learned in the classroom and connecting it to real life around me today. Another reason I think it is important for us to use Israel as a living classroom is because being able to see everything with your own eyes gives you a chance to interpret everything you learn yourself, with the knowledge of your teacher in your head.
