The hike up to Hod Akev and back through the Negev valleys was a similar path Moses took his people on.

After more than 7 hours of dangerous and tedious hiking, I can only imagine how angry God must have been with the Israelites to force them up and down and around these cliffs for 40 years. This hike was very exciting for me because we walked a very long distance for many long hours, but the views were incredible and the overall experience with my friends was priceless. Standing on at the top of the mountain, it was shocking to me how dangerous the path was and how easy it would be for someone to be hurt or worse. Moreover, the rock formations and patterns of towering land walls were captivating and breathtaking. I've been on many hikes through the mountains in my life, but the Negev is a completely different experience because of its vastness and various textures. The colors are all similar shades, but when put together, the valleys and hilltop and endless riverbed are incredible to look at and walk through. Even though many people complained about the length of the hike, I thought it was fine and overall really enjoyed this entire day. - Tamir
