I have been here 10 days and have already learned so much, not just in class but about myself too. This Alexander Muss experience has been everything I hoped for and more, academically and personally. Academically I hope to achieve in being able to know and be able to bring back things I learn here to my family and friends at home. My purpose here is to not just take notes, study and pass a test like at home. Here, in Israel, I want to know the material because I am interested, and passing the test comes as a plus. I WANT to learn about Jacob and Esau and the rise of Jewish, not to just pass the class, but because I’m Jewish and am actually interested. My goals for general studies, is just to understand with my one on one teacher. Sometimes at home I may fall behind because there are 20 other students who need to be helped. Being on Muss I have one on one learning so if I don’t understand my teacher helps me until I do and I am there main focus. So my goal for my regular classes is to speak up if I don’t understand something I fully make sure I am educated properly.

Personally, I am a little worried with procrastinating, st home I do procrastinate, but not badly. here there is always something to do, you have to learn that sometimes you have to stay back and study or do homework instead of going out and getting ice cream. Its hard but I need to learn that school comes first. My ultimate goal coming into this school is to meet new, JEWISH people. I am outgoing, so whenever someone walks passed me I say hi, even though I may not know them. I think it’s so cool to know Jews from across the country, because we all have something in common. Also even though I have only been here for 10 days, the second I stepped off the plane, I instantly felt connected to this country. These 2 months will certainly not be the last time I am here. My goal for the end of this trip is too know the culture, the people and the language. I want to be able to understand the gossip my counselors are talking about in hebrew, I want to know what the Mosenson kids laugh at, I just want to know how to have a conversation in hebrew. I have been trying to learn the basic words so I could go out and  have a simple conversation. That’s my first step to Israeli culture.
