Connecting at Tel Gezer

This picture means a lot to me, it was when we were on our hike in Gezer with our core class. On this hike, I got closer with all the people and it was really nice to connect with people and learn about our history. The lesson was so interesting, and actually being there where it literally happened was just amazing. Some of the best moments were: me almost falling down the hill and Shannon catching me, singing high school musical and camp rock, and attempting to use the restroom in the woods. One of the most interesting parts of the tiyul was when we were on the steps where
Solomon walked through the gates and people were learning the same things we were, our Jewish history. In this moment, my Jewish learning and our Jewish history clicked for me. Up until then it didn’t feel like Israel it just felt like a cool place that we are going for on a school trip for a week or two, but now it’s Tiferet. It is so incredible that we are here and this first tiyul was just the beginning and i am so excited for more. - Ava
