As my once in a lifetime experience continues, though it is just beginning, my curiosity for the miracles Israel has to offer is infinite.  Because of my passionate desire to see and learn about new environments and things, I have noticed many similarities and differences here compared to the cultures and lifestyles of America, specifically my hometown of Las Vegas. It is obvious that there are many Western influences that Israel has adopted into its routine such as its fashion, but the Middle Eastern and religious traditions that this unique land possesses have created a way of life different from what I’m used to. Diversity: Almost all signs on the busy streets of this enlightening country are written in three languages, English, Hebrew, and Arabic which shows the tremendous amount of  cultural acceptance and diversity that exists in such a small piece of land.  Geography: I’ve also noticed that this country has a numerous amount of geographical wonders, unlike Nevada which is primarily desert.  Stunning beaches, crystal clear lakes, vast deserts, and beautiful valleys all are a part of Israel’s topographical features.  Jewish Identity: Within the Jewish areas of Israel, religion is such an essential part of citizens’ everyday lives. For example, cities become extremely quiet on shabbat, as most people are observing and enjoying their day of rest.  It is also so satisfying to see the Jewish people feel so safe and at home, without fear of being looked down upon for their religious choices.  People in Israel say they don’t need to try to be Jewish because it’s so engrained in the daily life of an Israeli citizen.  To see this in front of my eyes leaves me awestruck.
