This week was a pretty basic week at Muss, after Tzfat we had a full four days of classes, which may not seem like a lot compared to the normal 5 day schedule in America, but 4 days straight of classes here is crazy!

This week was a pretty basic week at Muss, after Tzfat we had a full four days of classes, which may not seem like a lot compared to the normal 5 day schedule in America, but 4 days straight of classes here is crazy! Usually we have tiyuls(trips) in between but this week was not the case. On Monday night we were suppose to go to a basketball game but it got cancelled because we had a dinner with the JNF people, it was really fun we dressed up nice and ate really good food and had a chance to socialize with some of the JNF representatives. Then the next 2 days were normal school days which involves waking up at 7:00 am but usually for me it’s 7:20 on a good day, then we go to breakfast. Then we have core for 2 ½ hours which sounds crazy and some days it is but Lisa our teacher makes it fun so it usually goes by fast. After that most people have their general studies classes throughout the day. Tuesday night was very stressful, we had our 2nd core test and it was a very interesting night. Some tears were shed because the wifi stopped working so that involved me calling Lisa, fun times! The test itself was pretty hard but we made it through!

On Thursday we had a day trip and we went to Jerusalem and visited Yad Lekashish which was an old people’s home but with a twist, they didn’t live there but they all worked on different art projects and they were so beautiful and they were all sold ! It was a great experience. Then next we went to a food packing place where the food went to needy families and we split up into groups and did a competition to see who could pack the most. My group won of course, but in all seriousness it was a lot of fun but it felt great to be helping people out. For lunch we went to a retired train station that was turned into a cute place to walk around and eat food. While we were walking a group of people pulled me and some friends towards them and started doing these weird movements and none of them were talking and they got us involved with them and it was so crazy but fun. That was probably a really bad explanation but you really had to be there for it. After lunch the girls went to a mikvah and had a tour of it, it was not what I imagined, I was thinking of a huge white marble room with a huge pool filled with water, but I was so wrong not in a bad way but just surprised.

Since I’ve been here for a little over a month now I’ve noticed a culture shock, the people here are much more welcoming, not sure if that’s the right word but in America if you’re walking down the street and someone you don’t know starts talking to you that’s considered weird or creepy but in Israel it’s so normal! I can just start having a conversation with someone and it’s completely normal which is something I love about Israel!
