I came to Israel to have the absolute time of my life while learning, making memories, and creating friendships of a lifetime. I did not board the plane at JFK with specific goals. Once I arrived at AMHSI, I was made aware of the two community service organizations. Leket and Save A Child’s Heart.
I came to Israel to have the absolute time of my life while learning, making memories, and creating friendships of a lifetime. I did not board the plane at JFK with specific goals. Once I arrived at AMHSI, I was made aware of the two community service organizations. Leket and Save A Child’s Heart. When they spoke to us about those two organizations, I knew at that moment that I couldn’t leave Israel or this program without donating my time to both of these organizations. They can thoroughly change my trip. It can give my trip a whole new meaning and experience. So far I’ve gone to Leket and really enjoyed my time helping. Knowing that what I was doing was helping families in need made me feel great. I cannot wait until I experience Save A Child’s Heart. So in other words, Leket and Save A Child’s Heart is my first goal for this trip. My second goal for this trip is to improve my Hebrew. I speak some Hebrew and have so far held solid conversations with many Israelis here. But I’m of course always looking to improve! My third goal is to not buy any American brands that I can purchase back home in the states. I am trying to make the most out of this experience and I know this will help me make more of the experience. All Israeli food is amazing and I am trying to take advantage before this program ends and before I head back home. My favorite is their candy, shawarma, and falafel! But I am sure shawarma and falafel are a no-brainer! My fourth goal is to get a necklace with my Hebrew name on it. It will be like a piece of Israel coming home with me. When I get one, I am never going to take it off and it will forever be my number 1 favorite necklace. I also want to be able to loo at my necklace and reminisce about my amazing and memorable summer here in Eretz Yisroel. My fifth goal is to take in and absorb as much knowledge as I possibly can. I not only came to Israel for an unforgettable summer, but to also learn more than I already know about Eretz Yisroel and its history. My sixth and last goal, (For now. I seem to keep adding more goals every few days) is to return home to Las Vegas knowing and feeling that I had the best summer I could possibly have. I want to be able to tell myself that I lived every experience to the fullest. I do not want to have any regrets of not doing something that I should have done in order to make this summer the best one yet. I have no doubt that I will return home to Las Vegas already wanting to get on a plane on my way back to my real HOME-Eretz Yisroel. May summer 2k17 continue!!!
