This is a live mine site on the Golan Heights, a place that used to be occupied by Syria but has been occupied by Israel since 1967. On this hill, we toured through a Syrian bunker that was used in the Six Day War, and we learned about Israel’s triumph during this time. Later that day, we visited the border with Lebanon, and talked to a man who has lived on a kibbutz there for forty years, meaning he has seen the land pass from country to country and seen much fighting. - Lila
