When looking at what college I want to attend, I always made sure the college had a good study abroad program. I have always wanted to study abroad in college and it has been a dream of mine for a very long time. Thankfully I met Izzy Cutler at a NFTY event last year, who told me about this study abroad program called Alexander Muss High School in Israel. To this day, I am so happy that I learned about this amazing program for high school students around the world. Now that it is my last week at Alexander Muss, I am extremely heartbroken to leave, but excited to come home to share how much I loved this program to my friends and family. Studying abroad in high school has been the best decision of my life. This experience will always stick with me and has made me a better person. I leaned the true meaning of time management, because I am always traveling here, I learned how to figure out time to work on my studies for school. At home I would procrastinate my homework a lot, but now I feel like I can get a lot more focused and get my work done in a proper manner. During my time in Israel I learned to eat new food, which was something different for me since I’m a picky eater. Israeli food is amazing and I have come to love everything this amazing country has to offer. I am always texting my mom pictures of all the amazing food I’m eating here. Also, studying abroad in high school gives you a huge advantage in college. The reason I say this is because you learn how live with roommates, try new foods, meet new people every day, learn to use time management, gain a sense of independence, and learn how to save your money on the more important things. I have always gone to overnight camp, but Alexander Muss is a lot different than camp, because you have to work on your academics, while having fun. In college I plan to be very involved on my campus. I want to join the Hillel, join a sorority, and maybe join the student government on my campus. I now feel confident that I can be very involved on campus, but also do good in my academic classes after my life here at Alexander Muss. The most important part of my time studying abroad at Alexander Muss has been making lifelong friends and meeting amazing people from all over the country. I have met the most wonderful people here and I will always remember them. They have made such a huge impact on my life just in these two months. I am with eighteen kids my age and each of them are so special in their own way. They all are so different and it brings so much to my program here.  I have learned more in these two months about myself and my Jewish identity then I ever thought I would. Alexander Muss has no doubt been the best experience of my life and I wouldn’t change anything about it.
