I was born in Israel and visit every summer but studying in Israel is something that I have never experienced. I’ve always loved Israel, it’s always been my home. My love and for the Hebrew language, the culture, and the history could never be taken away but I wanted to enrich my understanding of Israel’s political and everyday life. This is why I decided to apply to attend Alexander Muss High School in Israel, and particularly the impact fellowship for the Mountain States. I am coming to the program very open minded with a few expectations, I know that what I expect will change what I experience, so I’m only expecting positive things. I do expect to learn more about Israel’s history, the people who changed it and bright us to where we are today. I do have many hopes, I hope that by visiting historical locations that impacted  Jewish history, I will be able to connect history with images and experiences. I also hope to build lifelong friendships. I applied for the fellowship because I saw a once in a lifetime opportunity which I couldn’t give up. The fellowship will provide me with unique experiences which I will then be able to pass on and always remember. I will get to visit places that I have never been to and see Israel from a new perspective. At first, I worried about adjusting to a lifestyle in Israel but after speaking to many important people from both Alexander Muss High School In Israel and the Jewish National Fund, I can confidently say that I feel safe and well-taken care of. I am very excited to be studying in Israel and spending time in the country I love, thanks to AMHSI and JNF.
