I honestly cannot believe that in just 10 days I will be leaving my friends and family at home, and traveling to Israel. The months leading up to this, I have not really thought of how big a change this will be for me. Suddenly, I am realizing that in such a short time, I will have stepped foot in Israel for the very first time. I will be in a completely new country, in a completely new school, undoubtedly doing things very differently than I would have back home. I am beyond excited to see for myself what so many people have described as their absolute favorite place to be, and to have the experience of a lifetime, while making friends that will last a lifetime. The closer this trip gets, the more excited I get.
One of the things that I am looking forward to most, for the months that I am in Israel, is seeing and experiencing the country of Israel and culture of Israeli people. I will get to try new foods, and meet new people. I hope to come home with a much deeper understanding of the county of Israel, and Israeli lifestyle. I just know that seeing Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Masada, the Dead Sea, and many other exciting places, will be such a thrill and wonder.
When I first heard about this fellowship, the prospect of living in Israel and experiencing everything that I mentioned above was too much to resist, and I knew I had to apply. It was a very quick decision that I made, and soon after I had an interview, got accepted, and here I am now days before I leave. I have heard nothing but good stories people have told about Muss, and soon I will have my own stories to tell. My final wish before I go to Israel is that I am able to truly get the most out of this experience by pushing myself out of my comfort zone, and discovering more about myself.
