This trip was an inner calling that was bound to happen.

I don’t recommend being a high school dropout. Packing for days on end can get tiresome. Even though it seems fun, after hours each day of my parents telling me what to endlessly put in my suitcase, it made me want to go back to school. My teachers have been very supportive of the decision that I’ve made to go to Israel. This trip was an inner calling that was bound to happen. I was unstoppable in my decision. Soon I will embark on my journey to Alexander Muss High School in Israel. I am beyond excited and cannot wait for this life changing experience. I am mostly packed but I still have a little more to do. This trip has come up super fast, and I have been looking forward to it since I got the call that I was accepted into the program.
I am not looking forward to the long day of traveling but hopefully it will go by pretty fast. However, I am really looking forward to arriving on campus and meeting my teachers and fellow students. I know that my studies will be rigorous; I will gain knowledge that will last a lifetime. Living in a different country for two months will be incredible. I have never done anything like it. Many people have told me that this will be the most amazing trip and I am ready to experience it on my own. I really want to do well with my studies, so I hope to work hard and still have a great experience.
I am very excited to visit all the historical places in Israel, to try new foods and buy awesome gifts. I’ve never been to a place with such a high concentration of Jews, and it will be an environment so comforting that I am sure I won’t want to leave.
Why have I chosen to go on this trip? Life can be monotonous; you need an adventure every once in a while. On this trip I hope to explore my roots, and the country which I am proud to call my “home” for the rest of my life. It’s sad to leave my family but 60 days isn’t that long, and I will be communicating with them so I am not worried about that aspect of leaving. I’m sure this trip will change my thoughts on Judaism. I will come back to America with amazing lessons to teach my friends, family, and will hopefully inspire all of them to take the same kind of trip.
Israel, whether you are ready for me or not, I’m coming!
