It is hard to believe that when I write my second blog I will be writing to you all from Israel!

This is my first blog entry. I have never done a blog before and I feel that I don’t even know where to start. It has been about a month since I have done anything academic related and I am feeling a little rusty and frustrated. Before I know it, I will have my bags packed and be on a plane going to Tel’Aviv and will be meeting my AMHS classmates for the very first time. I am so excited for the adventure that awaits!

Since I start a two-week summer Jewish summer camp tomorrow, followed by a weeklong family vacation, the last few days have been busy preparing for AMHS. One of the items I have been working on has been my JNF “Plant Your Way to Israel” fundraiser. Aside from more than 50 trees being planted in my honor in Israel, it has given me a chance to reach out to friends, family, and my community about my upcoming semester. I was touched to find out that a person I didn’t even know saw my post on the temple’s Facebook page and donated two trees! This made me realize the value and importance others see in my upcoming trip to Israel.
