Looking back to my goals I have completed some of them and really haven’t completed the others, I have made a ton of more friends than when I came on the program which is what I had heard from previous people who have come on the trip. I also hoped to make the playoffs in the Muss fantasy football league with most of the boys. This program has changed me so much, not only as a person but as a friend. I have had to live with 40 other people on this trip without our parents being with us all the time. It has taught me how to cope with things I would not have been able to if I had my parents egging me on about schoolwork, studying for more tests, or cleaning my room. It is really interesting because I can reflect on things I would not have been able to at home like how bad I am at time management, how I need to study things on my own, and getting my homework in on time. I am really going to miss all the friends and family I have made over the course of this amazing experience we call Muss. I was contemplating not going at first because I was scared to leave my parents and the country I have never left to come to a program across the whole ocean, almost completely in a desert, and the holiest country in the world. Israel is just so different than America, even though I wrote about this in a previous blog on the differences between Israel and America a lot has changed since then, I have learned about how much more nationalistic Israelis are when compared to Americans. Israelis are not as impatient as I thought they were at the start of the trip, but when they are compared to the larger cities of America they are like angels. I don’t know what to expect when I come home, I am going to be happy to see my friends and family but sad that I am leaving their amazing program and country. I do not know what he future holds but I know one thing is for certain, and I am coming back to this place soon.
