In the Israel History class, we learn two and half hours about a story or something that happened, and in the week, we go to the place that it happened, making the story much more exciting and interesting because you are actually seeing what happened, in the exact place that it occurred. An example of a place we have studied, and also been is, Tel Eked.

It is September 30, and we have been in Alexander Miss High School in Israel, for about five weeks. During these weeks, we have been studying our general studies, while also Jewish History, and learning about our traditions, culture, and history. The course with our great teacher Aubrey, makes it very interesting, and exciting, with him teaching us the stories in a very fun and interactive way, with him also listening to our opinions. I have studied  Jewish history for 9 years before coming here, because I went to Jewish school from Kindergarten to eighth grade.

In Tel Eked, first we hiked up the mountain, which is something we usually do, is hiking a mountain, to the place we learn about. We learned how the Hasmoneans, and Matityahu and his son Judah fought the Greeks on Tel Eked, and won, even though they were less superior to them.

While learning all of this, we take notes, listen, and imagine many things. The classes are usually long, but interesting because we are always learning new information. After being a whole day in tiyul, we come back very tired, and shower and do some homework that we have for the next day. The next day, we always have a quiz on the information we had learned in the tiyul, which if you listened during it, it is very easy, with simple questions.

Overall, I enjoy Israel being our classroom, because it is a chance that not everyone has, and it is very interesting to be learning in these conditions. It is a very good opportunity that many people should experience.
