I feel sad writing this knowing that this will be my last blog post from the Holy Land. It’s a weird feeling that I only have 8 days left with these amazing people around me. It’s weird that 4 months ago I left my other life at home for this completely new journey in my life. I remember writing in my first blog post once I go to Israel, about getting off the plane and being homesick right away.

I also remember writing about my goals for this trip. One being winning our semesters fantasy football league. Baruch Hashem because I’m in the championship for the next week to see who will take the trophy home and I’m feeling confident. On a more serious note, a big goal of mine was having a more positive attitude. Reflection on that I feel as if I did a great job or else I would not have gotten through this program. I kept an open mind the whole time and during the few times when I got down, I would remember where I was and who I was with. That really helped me out because it just made me feel good and I was surrounded by really awesome people in an awesome place.

I talked about wanting to become a better writer. I believed I achieved that because I had to write hard essays and they really made me thing, once I started to think seriously I would write it down and then put it together until it followed and made sense. I think I also became a much better student than just a writer. I had less time to work on things because all of our tiyuls so I gained time management skills which I very much needed. I would not have been able to achieve all of this if it wasn’t for my amazing teachers and peers around me.

I know I should have any more goals but my last one for myself is to keep that positive attitude and being the best student I can be for the last 8 days and carrying that over when I have to go home to Seattle.
