We have been in Israel for about three weeks, and already you can notice many differences between Israel and America in many different things, for example, the culture. An example of a cultural difference, is the food. The food in Israel, like the fruit has more flavor, and tastes better. Also, the food is Israel, is served less than in America. People in America are accustomed to have huge meals for very little money, but here in Israel, the dishes are smaller, and the food is much more expensive.

Another cultural difference between the United States, and Israel, is the language. Here in Israel, people speak Hebrew, and in the United States, people speak English. Something about Israel, is that most people here in Israel speak Arabic and English as well, in comparison to the United States, people only speak English, and some people speak Spanish, because of so many Latino immigrants going into the U.S. Hebrew is a very complicated language in my opinion, with many different words, and concepts. It is not too hard to live here because everyone speaks English.

Also, a cultural difference, between the United States and Israel, is the religion. In Israel, the main religion, is Judaism, but there is also Muslims, and some Christians. In the United States, there is not one specific religion, but mostly there are Christians. In Israel, there are about 75.4% Jewish people, 20.6% Arabs, and 4.1% of other minor religions. On the other hand, in the United States, there is a lot of diversity, of different types of religions. Christians represent 73.7% of the total population, 48.9% being Protestants, 23% Catholics, and 1.8% as Mormons, and are followed by people having no religion with 18.2% of the total population. There is about 2.1% of the population being Jews, and 0.8%, being Islam.

Last, the difference in currency, is a cultural difference between America and Israel. In Israel, the national currency is the shekel, and in the United States, the currency is the dollar. I feel like the dollar is a lot easier to use than the shekel, because the dollar is mostly in bills, while the shekels is a lot in coins. Because with ten shekels you can buy things, and it is a coin, that sometimes can get lost, which in my opinion is not convenient to use too many coins. Overall, Israel and America have many differences, that you can learn from.
