When I get home I know exactly what I want to do and I know exactly what impact I want to make.

When I get home I know exactly what I want to do and I know exactly what impact I want to make. I want to teach my growing Jewish community about the impact that a program like this can do to help you understand your Judaism. I will do this by doing presentation to NFTY NW which is the zone of NFTY that I am zoned to. This will promote AMHSI and hopefully encourage some young Jews that also feel as though they want to be leaders in their community as that is what NFTY does. As well I will present to my personal synagogues youth group (BAY) that has high school Jews come together in order to meet people your age that are also Jewish and also promote Jewish action in my community. This program is with the people I grew up with and I am sure will make a great impact with them. But I don’t just want to do presentations to groups, it’s about individuals that I think would be interested in this program. This includes close school friends, camp friends and also people in the Jewish community that I think would greatly benefit from this program. I also think it is important to teach the people of my school and city of the truth of Israel. I know many people who have negative ideas of Israel that may be portrayed by the news of other things that aren’t true. I want to show people the truth and the history behind this amazing country. I have learned so much from my core class and from exploring around this country and I think people need to hear more real life experiences rather than just biased news and biased opinions of the people that speak about Israel.

I feel as though it is also important for me to reach the youth of my Jewish community and introduce the idea of studying abroad in Israel even if they have quite a few more years before they will begin the process of coming to and applying to the program. The way I joined was because my family friend came here last year and told me how important is was for me to come. I think that this is what we need to do in order to get more Jewish youth to come to Israel. Coming to Israel with this program has absolutely changed my life. It has taught be so much about responsibilities and how I want to live my life and who I want to be on the future. I think that many people should have an experience like this in order to understand who you really want to be growing up.
