For this blog I want to focus on my trip to Jerusalem. On this past Friday I went to the Shuk for my first time. The energy there on a Friday afternoon was unlike anything I had ever experienced before. Everything there was so unique and DELICIOUS and there is nothing like it back in Pennsylvania. Later that same night we went to the western wall for Shabbat. I felt a much more strong connection to the wall then the last time we visited. It was a beautiful night and everyone there had such a strong sense of community and camaraderie. I was overwhelmed with singing and dancing and being welcomed into circles by strangers. Shabbat the next day was so relaxing. Most stores are not open, there were hardly any cars on the street, and everyone was outside because the weather was so nice. Our whole group went to a nearby park with our Mardrichim, we ate dried fruits and rugelach, and just sat in the sun and talked. It was such a nice day and we all had a great time.

Every single day I am here I am trying to eat a new food. I am a fairly picky eater, and I am known to stick with what I like. However in a place where everything is so interesting, I am really trying to push myself. Every place we go to I point something out that is in Hebrew and I just get it and try it. It is safe to say that not everything here is for me, but I have discovered a lot of new foods that I really really like.
