This past week we went to Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, Bar Kochba caves, Masada, and Kumran. It was a very busy, exciting, cold week! My favorite part of the past week was going to the Dead Sea or Kumran. The view at Kumran was absolutely beautiful to see, and although it was raining at the Dead Sea, it was a really great experience to float freely and be with all my friends freezing. The biggest difference in Israel and America is the food, the culture difference, and the weather. The weather in Pennsylvania at this time is 20s to 30s. The weather here is generally in the high 50s (besides in Jerusalem which is FREEZING). The culture change is so different from back home, where I am one of three Jewish students in my high school. Being here immerses me in the Jewish culture, which is a really nice change. The food here is not my favorite thing, however it is a nice change from the same old thing in Pennsylvania. It’s been an amazing past three weeks and I can’t wait for the following weeks to come!
