Being in quarantine for these last two weeks has really given me a chance to think about what goals I want to set/reach while here at AMHSI. I applied to AMHSI because I wanted to improve my Hebrew, leadership skills, and  better my knowledge about this incredible country.

I have always enjoyed being involved in the Jewish community. In recent years, it’s been harder to find kids at my school who relate to me in that way. Being at a school where everyone else feels that same connection has been amazing. I’m hoping to grow as a Jewish teen and learn how to get people back home more involved too.

Learning about Israel in America is so different than learning about Israel in Israel. It’s so meaningful to learn about a place's history right where the events happened. I want to take this life changing experience and learn everything I can about this country. My goal is to learn about the many different types of food, music, culture, and  history behind this special place I will be calling home for the next few months .

Ever since I left my Jewish day school in 5th grade I have not had the  chance to better my Hebrew. So naturally, the amount of Hebrew I remember has greatly declined. I have always wanted to improve my Hebrew, and now is the perfect opportunity . I never imagined being in Israel for half a year as a sophomore in high school, but here we are. I’m beyond eager to see where this adventure takes me.
