Soon I will be going to Israel with AMHSI.

Soon I will be going to Israel with AMHSI. I’ve never been to Israel before so I’m definitely excited. Everyone’s telling me it’s gonna be the trip of a lifetime so I’m very ready to go and have the best time. I am however a bit nervous. I’m gonna be going to a new country with a bunch of people I’ve never met before. Not to mention I have to quarantine for 2 weeks before we can go out. I know it’s necessary to keep people safe, but I’m kind of worried I will get bored. All this being said I know it will be worth it when we can go out and see everything Israel has to offer.

The week before leaving I’ve been spending time with my family and saying goodbye to everyone in preparation for the trip. I’m comfortable being away from home as I go to a sleepaway camp for 5 weeks in the summer. Yet I am still going to miss home and how organized I was. I’m hoping in Israel I’ll be able to maintain some sort of schedule and stay on track with my studies. I’m also hoping I’ll be able to find a balance between getting all my work done and also having fun on all the trips we go on without being stressed.

When I heard about AMHSI through my mom I knew it was something I had to be a part of. It’s clear that the program is an amazing experience and I’m so lucky to get to join them. I’m also especially thrilled to be a part of the Impact Fellowship as I know this way I can share my experiences with others and get more kids to hear about this extraordinary opportunity.

As my last week at home comes to an end I can’t stop thinking about what it's gonna be like when I get there. I’ve been prepared for lots of hot days so I spent the last couple of days running into stores buying lots of pairs of shorts. I’m not the best packer so my mom helped me get everything ready and organized to go. I’m not excited for the long flight but I am more than excited to get there. I know it will be an amazing experience I will remember forever.
