Mt. Carmel

This tiyul was on Mt. Carmel after we visited Megiddo. We learned that on this mountain, Achav and Elijah the prophet battle. This fight is really the battle between one god and many gods. We discussed the way this worked which was that each side got a bull and whichever side can light the bull on fire first wins. Elijah ended up winning and pours water on the bull and then prays to God publicly. I thought that the way in which the battle played out was really interesting and it was cool to be at the site where the fight took place. The reason I chose this picture was because it captures how beautiful the scenery was which I really enjoyed. This tiyul contributed to my thoughts on Jewish history because it helped me understand the history from this time period better. - Tavi
