First Day on Campus

Today is my first day on campus. It is January 29th, 2019 and after a year of waiting I am finally in Hod Hasharon. This photo was taken right outside of the Friedman dormitory building as I was walking to my first class. Arriving on campus last night, I didn’t get much of a view of campus because it was dark out, but when I woke up this morning, it was sunny out and the campus was not what I expected. Seeing it in the daylight I was able to realize, just by looking at the buildings, just how long this AMHSI has been here. I have heard of my friends parents coming here when they were just my age, but I had never really put that into perspective. So far, I have made a lot of new friends and have already experienced new things that I wouldn’t have if I was back in Maryland right now. The classrooms are different, the local store on campus is different and this type of community is also different. I am being challenged to step out of my comfort and experience a new living situation by being not only in a different country, but also being on a different continent than the rest of my friends and family. I am so excited for this journey to really kick in so I am able to fully experience everything and take it all in. - Bailey
