Today we traveled to Sataf

Today we traveled to Sataf. We learned about how this village survived the notoriously bad time of the Shoftim. Compared to most of the other structures from this time, the archeology in the Sataf is still completely intact. We learned that this is because of how the people who lived there recognized the importance of teamwork. Because they lived on a hill and had a limited water supply, they realized that if they each worked only for themselves, they would never be able to build themselves terraces or have enough water. Therefore they began dedicating one day to build each person in the village a terrace, where everyone helped that one person, turning a potentially 3 year long job into a day long one. It really touched me to see just how powerful teamwork and selflessness can be.
