JNF Solidarity Mission to arrive to Israel this Sunday in time for AMHSI’s final banquet for Summer 2014 participants

Jewish National Fund, a proud partner of AMHSI, is sending a Solidarity Mission from all over the United States to Israel. The group will visit various locations affected by the current conflict as part of the mission. Russel Robinson, JNF CEO, is one of the mission’s participants.

On the first day of the mission, the JNF staff will assist local efforts in packing supplies to be sent to the IDF troops stationed at the Gaza border. Immediately afterward, they will travel to Alexander Muss High School in Israel, where they will join AMHSI summer participants and staff for their final banquet as they wrap up their 6-week summer program.

The BBQ banquet will take place in Hod HaSharon at the AMHSI campus. The banquet activities will include commencement speeches by AMHSI staff, including Rabbi Philip Nadel, Head of School, and Rabbi Leor Sinai, Co-Executive Director, and Russel Robinson, JNF CEO.

In addition, the banquet will feature a speech by Gideon Meir, an Israeli diplomat who worked as Consul and Administration Officer for the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C. and was a member of the negotiating team that drafted Israel’s peace treaty with Egypt. Until November 2006, Meir served as Deputy Director-General for media and public affairs in the Israeli Foreign Ministry. Previously he was Minister Plenipotentiary at the Israeli embassy in London and an Israeli Ambassador to Italy. In July 2011, he was appointed head of the Foreign Ministry’s public affairs directorate.

The evening will be concluded with humorous performances by the students summarizing their experiences at AMHSI.
